WHY YOGA? ~ BENEFITS ~
Yoga is an ancient Indian discipline that offers numerous physical, mental and emotional benefits. This is achieved by the practice of physical postures, breathing exercises as well as different meditation and relaxation techniques. After every class there is a sense of more lightness, vitality and wellbeing. As our practice develops over a period of time, the benefits are more obvious and very important. On a physical level we increase our strength and flexibility, correct our posture, lubricate our joints, and release any tension and toxins that reside in the body from the lack of movement. Yoga affects directly our central nervous system thus the mental and emotional benefits are equally very important: we feel less stressed by quieting the mind and see things with more clarity. We develop our focus and concentration. Our attention towards overall health will increase and choose a healthier lifestyle. We sleep better with less mind chatter. We feel happier and more balanced because Yoga gives the support and provides the space that we need, in order to cope more efficiently in our daily lives disturbances or bigger sufferings.
